SALVANS, Martí (2005):
Andorra romànica, Andorra vascònica
(Romanesque Andorra, Basque Andorra)

Andorra Romànica, Andorra Vascònica is a multidisciplinary essay on part of the history of Andorra. It starts with the analysis of the documents of the Concòrdies signed in 1162 and 1176 by the two bishops of La Seu d’Urgell and the men of Andorra. History, anthroponymy, demography and toponymy are the essential pillars of this first part about Romanesque Andorra. However, the toponymy of Andorra already had, at that time, many place names of a Basque or Iberian Basque origin that belong to the pre-Roman linguistic substratum. Archaeogenetics and historic linguistics are the branches of research that allow the country to be presented before and during Neolithic times, in other words, Vasconian Andorra.

The book was published by Publicacions de l’Abadia de Montserrat (2006), sponsored by Reig Fundació.
